Vacheron Constantin has expanded its Overseas family. The new Vacheron Constantine Overseas Self-winding (Reference: 4500V/110R-B705) features a deep blue dial and is fully draped in pink gold to offer an elegant and ostentatious sports-watch experience.
The use of precious metal on a Vacheron Constantin is a familiar affair and the brand’s current catalog already offers a three-hand Overseas with a silver dial, a gold case, and a choice of rubber and leather strap. So, what makes this new watch special? There are a few things that make this watch stand out. First and foremost is the beautiful sunburst blue colorway. The hue of blue used is very vibrant and provides a striking contrast against the pink gold case to make a bold visual statement. The layout remains familiar with applied lume filled pink gold hour markers, dual minute tracks printed in white, a well-proportioned lume filled handset, and a nicely bordered date window at 3.
While the dial looks striking, it is the case that gives the watch added opulence and elegance, especially on the bracelet. Crafted from 18k pink gold the case measures 41mm in diameter and has a thickness of around 11mm, which would make this watch slide under those cuffs with relative ease. The case design does not see any changes and features signature design elements such as an integrated lug structure and the Maltese cross inspired bezel that are synonymous with all watches from the Overseas collection. A threaded crown at 3 makes the watch water-resistant to a healthy 150 meters and there are sapphire crystals on both the front as well as the rear.
Flipping the watch over reveals the stunning caliber 5100. This is an in-house automatic movement that operates at 4Hz, comprises 172 parts, and offers a power reserve of around 60 hours. The movement has been beautifully finished and features Geneva stripes, hand-beveled bridges, and a decorated real gold oscillating weight.
The new Vacheron Constantin Overseas (Reference: 4500V/110R-B705) comes with 3 strap options right out of the box; a pink gold bracelet that looks killer, a blue rubber strap, and a blue alligator strap. The watch would retail for USD 46,500.
