The current GMT chronograph market is a fiercely competitive segment, but without a doubt one of the boldest and most striking options in 2020 is the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec series. With a massive case, distinctive design, and a patented three time zone display, the Patravi TravelTec series is one of the brand’s most technically impressive lines, and for Geneva Watch Days 2020 Carl F. Bucherer has unveiled not one, but four colorful new variants. Inspired by the vibrant colors of each of the four seasons, these new models follow the technically impressive formula of the standard Patravi TravelTec with new “Winter,” “Spring,” “Summer,” and “Autumn” styles. The resulting Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons series injects stunning color into what was already one of the boldest designs in the segment.

While the innovative concepts behind the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons date back to the line’s introduction in 2006, the end result is no less striking. The beefy 46.6mm case with its stout lugs and wide pushers should be familiar to fans of the brand, as should the returning patented time zone window in the case side along with the unique time zone monopusher at 10 o’clock capable of adjusting the time zone one hour at a time in either direction. The major changes to the series come by way of the dials, with vibrant new colors including ice blue for “Winter,” a grassy green for “Spring,” sunny yellow for “Summer,” and pumpkin orange for “Autumn” accenting the line’s distinctive three black chronograph subdials, twin internal 24 hour rehauts, and distinctive skeleton sword hands. The Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons line still uses Carl F. Bucherer’s innovative in-house CFB 1901.1 automatic GMT chronograph movement, which has been COSC chronometer certified for accuracy and offers a respectable 42 hour power reserve. Carl F. Bucherer pairs these vibrant new dials with matching embossed rubber straps in blue, green, yellow, and orange, maximizing the visual impact of these already bold designs on the wrist. It’s a combination that skirts the line between aggressive and garish, and while it may not be to everyone’s taste it’s certainly a dynamic addition to the series.

While the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons series may not be the subtlest or most substantive of additions to the brand’s lineup, there’s no denying these new iterations are both eye-catching and offer truly impressive technical prowess. All four models of the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Color Edition Four Seasons are available now from authorized retailers, with each model carrying an MSRP of $10,900.
